SIX:02 Runs SF!
I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to represent SIX:02 this weekend in San Francisco for the Nike Women's Marathon. I have trained the last few months for this race and am so excited to see it all come together. Training and running are a few of my favorite things and I am so excited to represent brands that feel the same way. I am honored to have this opportunity.
Today, I picked up Lynda, another fitness blogger for SIX:02, and we headed to the city to pick up our packets, meet up with the crew and explore everything that Nike has produced for this event. They really went all out and I have had a blast so far. Even though this year is different, there is no central expo in Union Square, it's a unique experience that allows you to see more of the city.
Our first stop was Nike Union Street where we were treated to a fun Sneaker earring, shoe-pedicures from Jason Markk, and customized shoe laces! This is one of my favorite Nike stores because of it's female focus, so I was excited to take part in their part of the weekend.
Next we visited Spright Headquarters and were treated to a delicious healthy lunch, swag and great company. I love this website - check them out if you haven't already! They are all about fitness, healthy living and positive body focus. They invited a select few bloggers visiting the race to join them for lunch and to chat all things fitness and running. We had a blast!
Packet pick-up was a breeze and now we are ready to race. Triple threat right here with my roomies! I really like the tank design this year, I would prefer that it wasn't white, but you can't win them all! How about a nice bright purple or blue next year, Nike?
Nike Town San Francisco was next on our to-do list and I had a blast checking out the latest gear (I want all of it!) and trailing out new running shoes. The store is pretty amazing for any runner looking for the latest and greatest in innovation and gear. The flash gear was my absolute favorite! I love the Epic Lush Flash Tights - they are definitely on my wish list!
The race course map is set up in Nike SF as well and we were able to see a preview of where we were running and the elevation gain. Great use of space.
Finally - we went to an evening event. A live Nike Training Club session with Nike Master Trainers at Pier 35. It was a great, easy, muscle relaxing workout. Nothing too hard before a big race. It was just right.
I also attended the Concrete Runners event at Fleet Feet SF, conveniently located right next to our hotel. We got swagged out, heard a talk with Jordan Hassey, and I was able to meet up with other SIX:02 bloggers and my friends from LA and Concrete Runners. Success!
We finished off the night with a bit of Chipotle. Tomorrow we will be going out across the city to find other Nike activities set up throughout the streets of SF, carb-loading with Concrete Runners and simply enjoying the day before the big race. Which means feet up for part of the day!
If you are around, be sure to say hi if you see me! #werunsf
