Giveaway!! Getting Wet with my Fitletic Hydralock Armband
I have all types of fun running accessories, but it just seems like companies keep innovating and making things better or make improvements for different activities. Recently, Fitletic reached out to me to review their Hydralock armband. While made for above water use, it's actually 100% waterproof for up to 30 minutes if submerged, perfect for protecting my phone from the occasional paddle board or kayak spill in the lake!
In California, rain is scarce in the summer but water sports are not! I took this armband out for a kayak trip and I also got a little creative with testing the waterproofness of this band by running through sprinklers and channeling my inner child. Unfortunately, when doing these wet activities, there wasn't always a dry camera around to take a photo of the band in action! But the results were undeniable, my precious phone did not get wet. Not one little droplet of water went inside the case!

What I Love About the Hydralock Armband
- Fit's my large iPhone 6 Plus
- Reflective (perfect for my night runs and upcoming Ragnar Trail relay!)
- Waterproof - held up agains the rain, sprinklers and the cup of water I dumped all over it just to be sure. :) It is built with a waterproof outer shell and fold down design with velcro closure that wraps your phone up tight against any water seeping in. It reminds me of the dry bags I used on a rafting trip. My phone was 100% safe and secure.
- Touch screen really works - sometimes these things say they work and they don't, but this armband's screen cover still allowed me to use all the functions and features on my phone, like my Nike+ Running App to log my miles.
Hydralock is Great in Any Weather
I ran with this armband on sunny days too and it held up great rain or shine. I also felt like the waterproof design protected my phone against sweat on sweltering 100+ degree days. It was easy to use the touchscreen on my phone without taking my phone out of the armband too, which is a huge plus. Yes, I know I mentioned this before, but it's a huge deal that this works!
Holding Up During a Tough Workout
