Finding Beauty in Chaos
Close to my house there is a trail that I often run. About two miles in you come upon an abandoned winery overlooking the lake. It's a place where local kids come to hang out and often leave their mark with graffiti. I'm not the biggest fan of graffiti, but I can't argue with the raw artistic talent of those who come here. The concrete walls are covered with art, vibrant colors, and stories that these kids are trying to tell. I've never come when someone is actually painting the walls, but every time I stop to check it out there is new art. It's an ever flowing canvas, nestled two miles back, off a beaten trail. I went there this weekend and couldn't help but find it beautiful. The colors so vibrant, the messages clear.
Fitness is My Art
Of course, being me, I had to strike a few yoga poses surrounded by the walls. Fitness is my art. And while I may not leave a physical mark on this place, I definitely felt it. It was probably one of the more zen-like places I have done yoga.
Life is often chaos and people, clients, and friends often tell me how difficult it is to stop and just be. However, not matter how chaotic life is, there is always beauty. There is always a moment, a person, or a place that can provide joy. We just need to be open to it.
Finding Inspiration Everywhere
Inspiration and beauty can be found anywhere. It's how you approach something. Have you ever noticed how two different photographers or painters can tell an entirely different story based on their perception?
I'm working on looking at things from more than one perspective, more than just my own. I want to appreciate life, art, people, differences, and beauty everywhere I look. Care to join me?
