The DC Wonder Woman Run is one of my favorite runs to do! Not only do I love female superheroes, but it’s just such a fun family race! I could not wait to sign up and run this race again this year.
I planned my race for last Saturday. While my idea was to go out and run just with my little mini-me, Livy, I ended up running with both kiddos in the double BOB stroller. It turned out to be really fun to get them both involved.
The Start
When running with kids, make sure to bring all the snacks! We loaded up the stroller with all the best snacks and water for both kiddos, then headed out. Logan was on a “Bug Hunt.” So I kept an eye out for any interesting creatures along the way.
Mile 1
Kids ate the snacks and we selfied together at our first water break.
Mile 2
More snacks and Logan finds his Stink Bug!! Which leads us back to the snacks. Since Logan didn’t bring a container for the bugs, we put an empty Puffs container to good use and coaxed the bug inside.
Mile 3
Logan and Livy both fall asleep. Running is so soothing for them .
The Finish
I finished the run with a mini lap around my house. Both kids were asleep so my goals of using the finish line tape with them were left behind, but I did take a fun back yard finish photo. Livy was a huge fan of the medal when she woke up and wore it all around the house.
What Makes This Run Fun
This run is so fun! Fun for solo runners, families and groups! Next year I already have plans to make this an official event with my mom’s workout group, Heroic Mama Fitness!
Being virtual, this is a great run to grab a group of friends with to run. While I hope there is an in person option next year, I had a blast running this virtually.
The swag is also top notch! I’m going to be wearing the zip-up hoodie for years to come. I also loved the medal and extra touch with the finish line tape.
If you have the chance to run this race, do it!
