Reflect and Be Seen
With the days turning to night earlier and earlier it is even more important to be in reflective gear to be seen during long night runs. The more you are lit up, the better chance a driver will see you and avoid hitting you. Safety on runs is one of my top priorities and I have picked out a few products that are great for helping you stand out and be seen.
Light It Up skirt from Lululemon: $78
This reflective skirt from Lululemon is easy to pull on over spandex shorts or running tights for quick reflection on the go. I love that it also has a zip pocket to store necessary items like ID or a credit card. It's also cute and feminine! I'm not a huge Lululemon fan because I have had some trouble working with their customer service in the past, but this skirt is worth the hassle because of its fit and function. Check it out!
Nike Shield Flash Max Jacket: $495
A bit pricy, yes, but this jacket lights up the night. With all over reflective print you will be seen at any angle. The jacket is also wind and waterproof to protect you against natures harsh conditions. Vents on the hood and back also allow for breathability without sacrificing weather protection.
Nike Vapor Flash Running Gloves: $65
These gloves are great when it's too hot out for a jacket or you just want some extra reflection. The outer shell is fully reflective and the fabric on the palm and cuff repels wind and water. They also have strategically placed silicone for added grip.
Nike Dri-Fit 360 Healdband: $15
This headband keeps your stray hairs in place, mops up sweat and is completely reflective. It's great for a little extra pop of reflectivity and light on the road. It comes in three colors so you can choose pink, yellow, or black to go with running gear already in your collection.
Petzl Tikka XP Healdlamp: $54.95
Headlamps not only light your path and keep you from tripping on debris in the road, but they also alert cars to the fact that you are there too. This model has consistent output and multiple beam options for proximity and long-range lighting. It also has an adjustable fit and has both red and white strobe lights for whatever your needs may be.
