Motivation, NRC, Just Do It Sunday & Me

It's easy to fall into a rut. To lack motivation and drive. Everyone has moments when they question the path they are on, or their training, or work. This year in running has been harder for me. I've had some successes and some failures. My biggest demon has been fighting against a lack of motivation. Anyone else ever feel like this?

Motivation, Where Are You?

Part of my lack of motivation stems from not truly enjoying where I am running. I am bored of the same routes and the same places. This is part of the reason I am so excited to move to Portland next month and experience running so many new trails, new races, and running with new training groups! I can't wait to push myself with live Nike Running Club sessions and reach a new level of speed and fitness.

Just Do It Sunday

In the interim, Nike has come up with a  motivation solution to help me on Sundays. With their new campaign "Just Do It Sunday," I am inspired to get out and run a 5k every Sunday along with the rest of the world. My watch, my phone, my NRC app, all are cheering me on and reminding me why I started in the first place.

What specifically is Just Do It Sunday? In collaboration with Kevin Hart and the new Nike+ Apple watch (or Nike+ App), every Sunday you are encouraged to get out and run at least 3.1 miles. You get encouragement from Kevin Hart himself via voice overs in the app or from your watch. Pretty cool, right? Even better, search the hashtag #justdoitsunday and cheer on others around the world that are doing the same. You will receive cheers too! It doesn't get much more motivating than that.

Let's Run Together

Last Sunday I got a few of my friends together to run at the lake and I had a blast! I'm posting this post early this week so you have plenty of time to prepare to run a 5k this weekend with me.
