Confidence and My Athleisure Style

How confident are you in your every day life? Are you confident at work or at the gym? Or do you get self conscious, constantly worried about what others think? It's easy to get caught up in this way of thinking, but it, unfortunately, does nothing to add productivity to your life. Developing confidence is crucial in your success. Take my pants for example. As you can see, they are bright red with crazy patterns and design. They stand out. I don't think I would have ever worn these in high school, much too bright and out of my comfort zone. Today is a different story.

My bright, patterned pants stir up conversations at the gym, they define who I am as an athlete and make my clients smile. They are a part of my athleisure style. They're functional and fun.

Confident Fitness

Since school, I've gained confidence with life experience and just plain realizing that what others think doesn't generally matter. As long as I am happy with me and I'm not hurting others in the process, I can wear and live how I would like.

Everyone has to build their own life and discover their own sense of confidence. It can't be given to you or spelled out for you, it just comes with time, patience and growth. However, there are a few things I did to help me discover my confidence.

What worked for me in finding my confidence

Finding a passion. For me that was sports, basketball in high school and college and running after graduation. Now I work as a personal trainer and fitness writer.

Deciding that I wouldn't let what others think define me. I've honestly lived a lot of my life trying to please others at my own expense. Making the decision to do me has made all the difference.

Being open about my successes and my failures. When you open up and share the good and the bad, others will too. And when you aren't always trying to hide a mistake and realize no one is perfect, you can be confident that trying and doing your best is enough, even if it's not always perfect.

True confidence comes when you just become you and not what anyone else wants. When you are comfortable in your own skin and free to do and be whatever you want.
