Summer is here. There is no denying it. It's hot out and hydration on the run is even more important than ever. I am constantly chugging water and the last few weeks have been no exception.
In the past, I've tried to go without water on the run, simply trying to lighten my load. But since living in Northern California, in the heat, I've realized the importance of bringing water along! I am not a fan of having to walk back from a run simply because my mouth is too dry to continue. This is where my new Amphipod Handheld Hydraform Hydration Bottle has been great.
Two weeks ago I ran a 7 mile training run on the trails. I can do this run without extra water in the winter, but not now that the summer heat has arrived, it's hard to do without water. I filled up my Hydraform Ergo Light Ultra bottle and had no problems staying hydrated and drinking without slowing down.
I've had other water bottles in the past that tend to leak on the run. This one does not. Yay! It seals up tight and is easy to squeeze on the the run.

On the Run with Hydraform Handheld Hydration
This weekend I took the bottle to the 24 hour Relay for Life event here in Ukiah. It was 100+ degrees on the track and I ran 10 miles Saturday and 7 miles on Sunday. I kept my handheld with me so I could sip on the run and spray the water over my head to cool off during each lap. I refilled the water bottle many times throughout the day and it kept me hydrated and cool. No slipping, no blisters on my hand and no spills. It truly stood the test of time.
If you are looking for a great hydration solution, this could be it. I love that it holds 20 ounces of water (they have a 16 ounce too) and how big the pocket is. When a water bottle pocket fits the phone and my gels, I must have it!
My training and racing has been better because I am well hydrated and can easily carry my fuel. A big thanks to Amphipod for allowing me to take this for a test run!
